Rinsing with water only, does not neutralize the peel; water just reduces the concentration or dilutes the acid. The activity of the acid on the skin will continue. To stop the activity of the acid on the skin, a post chemical peel neutralizer must be used.

Apply before peel application to protect sensitive prone areas on the face.
Suggested Protocol:
Follow application instructions for the chemical peel you selected. May apply neutralizer gel to sensitive prone areas of the face and lips prior to peel application. Once you have reached desired active peeling time, apply 3-4 pumps of neutralizer gel on fingertips and gently massage on all areas where peeling solution was applied. Alternatively, the neutralizing gel can be put in a small cup and applied with a fan brush. Sensitive areas that develop erythema quickly can be spot treated with Q-tip saturated with gel. Wait at least 60 seconds for the neutralizer to take full effect and then rinse off abundantly with cool water. Gently pat skin dry with 4 x 4 cotton pad.
